The nature of this mantra is the calling upon the higher self… the calling upon Shiva, the destroyer deity, to aid in the process of the ‘old’ making way for the ‘new’, more personally Shiva’s energy is the one which destroys one’s lower nature to make way for personal growth.

This Mala, specifically designed to practice this mantra, includes calming and soothing sandalwood, alongside Rudraksha the ‘Tears of Lord Shiva’; it is said that Lord Shiva, after a period of yogic meditation, went into a deep trance, when his eyes opened - because of the strong emotions evoked - tears fell to the earth. These tears formed the seeds which grew into the Rudraksha tree. The seeds used for mala beads are the dry seed capsules of this tree. It is believed that by wearing the Rudraksha bead one will have the protection of Lord Shiva - inner peace, knowledge and enlightenment will also be encouraged. Clear Quartz has been included to assist with purification and enabling one to identify clear negativity associated with perceptions and judgments. A tiny silver Buddha has been specifically placed to sit behind the neck, close to the top of the spine serving as a reminder of the ‘higher self’.
